| DEADLY IDLIES! |
| 06.06.05 (10:15 pm) [edit] |
"Idly" (White Sour Dough Breakfast Muffins - say "eat lee" and spelt many different ways)
"The simplest, cheapest, healthiest, and most basic food in all of southern India is Idly and it is served at all vegetarian restaurants for breakfast and dinner. Idly is made from a special sour dough rice batter which has been fermented all night in a machine which has a stone grinding wheel that goes round and round the entire time. In the morning, the batter is steamed into soft round cakes (Idly). Idly comes with gravy soup, three variations of grated coconut sauce and toasted sesame seeds in oil. The white coconut sauce is plain, the green is spicier and the red can sometimes be rather hot. To eat Idly, break off pieces with your fingers of your right hand and dip the pieces of the cakes into the gravy or the sauces."
so WTF? i write about deadly idlies because i heard this term used in a breakfast show of the local fm channel and thought the phrase was pretty cool and rhyming. and also bcos tblogs a lovely place where i can write what i feel. period. LOL
i feel quite random now and am thinking about the times ive been robbed - well, or deprived of my possessions :)
ive lost INR 1,000 once while on a bus (pickpocketed?). that really screwed me up because id been planning to buy my a/c train ticket to travel across half of india to join my first job - straight from college. and to think of it, i had borrowed the money from a female classmate! the journey was not in the a/c cabin and i swore at the heat and sweat all the way from delhi to hyderabad, not knowing that more chaos awaited me at my destination!! then, i had overslept once in a train and somebody woke me up as the station had reached and it was time to clean the coach - to my dismay i found that the extra bag of banana chips, which also had a book and a kurta (tunic) was not there! i trudged home leaving the lucky one to enjoy the chips...
NEVER BEEN KISSED - now that ive learnt french and would be continuing to do so, i now want a french kiss. volunteers, any?
lifes pretty hectic at this moment - too many things happening you know! guess you can read the state of my mind from my random notes LOL more to come soon! on "june-july" and "idly-vada" etc etc...
